[snip] ....... My 2 cents: Howard, I'm somewhat nonplussed at the action Jackie Fenton has taken re: starting up a "competing" listserv for yakking/paddling [Paddlewise]. Your list has been a truly marvelous resource for me and my paddling buddies around here. Example: when my ferry reservations to Prince Rupert disintegrated two days before departure the summer of '96, a plea to Wave~Length activated the assistance from Steve Weir in PR which saved my trip. I really appreciate the efforts you have extended on behalf of the paddling community, and hope that both Jackie's list and yours thrive. I'm glad that you "responded" with your view of the situation on the Wave~Length. I understand Jackie's point, agree it is valid, but wonder where it will all lead. I hope we do not end up splitting up into two factions over this. I, for one, plan to continue my W~L subscription, *and*pick up her list, to see what develops. This will be my only comment on the situation. I've been monitoring both lists only for a day, and so far, it's been fun. There is healthy dialog both places. Good health and great paddling to all. -- Dave Kruger Astoria, OR *************************************************************************** PaddleWise Paddling Mailing List Submissions: paddlewise_at_lists.intelenet.net Subscriptions: paddlewise-request_at_lists.intelenet.net ***************************************************************************
