Now driving to the put in is the really dangerous part, besides a helmet is only worn sea kayaking while playing in the surf, don't you wear one most all the time? I won't even get into the PFD issue. And yes I use to white water but 7-9 hours drive just wasn't worth it when in ten minutes I can be in the water sea kayaking.
