I am leaving for holidays, but before that few lines: I met my girlfriend after spending one summer learning sea kayaking. She is 28, me 36 and she comes from a small village from the Middle Finland. Very accustomed to walking and trekking in the woods - but a complete beginner at sea, and smaller in size and physical strenght. Well, as I have described before, that has lead us sometimes in rather c o m p l i c a t e d situations: I am surely getting sometimes overactive when at sea :-) enjoying all. After meeting her she surely noticed, that there is no way to avoid going to the sea - me being as crazy as one can get. She learned very quickly and showed some persistence when during the first try she capsized after the veryu first four metres of paddling (went back to the club´s shed, changed clothes & started again). What a woman can do to be with his man -sigh!- It is interesting to notice, how after living inlands in an area full of woods, she can also feel sometimes very unsecure if we are making crossings at open sea, even if the weather is brilliant. Well, that must happen to everyone sometimes...her carefulness and patience do show up my impatience very often. It might be one of the good consequences of a good relationship: to learn a litlle more about yourself and your weaknesses. If willing to improve your realtionship, try kayaking a double.
