I have two paddles, a Werner Wenatchee 206 and a Werner Quest 203. I use
the Wenatchee when I'm likely to encounter lots of rocks or lots of downed
timber. The large blades make maneuvering easy and the strength of the
Wenatchee reduces the possibility of breaking it. I use the Quest for
ordinary touring and appreciate it's lighter weight on long hauls. Both
paddles have the same shaft length, 211-212 cm, and have 45 degrees of
feather.

My original paddle, which I lost in a river incident, had 80 degrees of
feather. When I bought the Wenatchee, the folks at NOC recommended that I
try the 45 because it would be easier on my wrist. I've had virtually no
wrist trouble with the Werners.
