As it happens, I was just in a Radio Shack yesterday and bought a small three-channel radio with a weather alert beeper for $20. No batteries at home, so haven't tried it yet. They had a seven channel for $30, and a "heavy duty" water proof model (you know the sort of thing, in yellow plastic) for $50. Can't say anything about the quality of the above.
