Here's my small, yet somehow mysteriously growing list:

Dagger Encore - An old, yet very capable design. This is an single open
canoe designed for whitewater paddling. Tons of fun for playboating.
Not getting much use here in the Juneau, Alaska area because there just
isn't any whitewater that you can reach by car. But the sea kayaking is
fantastic!!

Valley Canoe Skerray - This is the boat I use most frequently for day
trips and general playing around in the surf. A little heavy, 17+ feet
and 21" beam. Turns fast with a lean, and the retractable skeg helps
when the wind wants to weathercock it. It's plastic so I don't worry
about it when landing on the rocky, rough shores that we have here. The
hatches from Valley Canoe are fantastic!

Ascente' - 18' & 22" wide. Fibreglass. A little over 50 lbs. A great
(and almost bomb-proof) rudder assembly. This is a big boat for me
(5'7" and 150 lbs.) but it's great when I need to load up for a trip.
The hatches are large, making packing easy. This boat is great when
traveling, not so much fun when playing because it doesn't turn very
quickly - a lot of rudder and a strong lean will get it turned, but
that's not ideal when playing in the waves. I've spent a lot of time
sidesurfing (whitewater skills pay off when sea-kayaking!!) this boat
because it tends to broach and then I just can't get it turned.
