I've been back and forth to Taiwan over the past 6 months and the next time I head back I'd like to set up a trip to the Penghu Archipelago located in the Taiwan Sea between Taiwan and mainland China. I've been able to find a little (very little !) information on the area and for the most part finding anything about the Islands from the folks I work with back there is difficult. The web site maintained by the Taiwan government gives some info and the photos make the area seem like a real nice are to explore by kayak Does anyone on the list know anything about the area ? I'd like to set up a two or three day trip but until I get gather some additional info the place, I'm somewhat hesitant to try a solo trip in an area that seems at first blush seems to be almost Baja like in it's remoteness. Kayaks are almost unheard of and the last time I took my K-1 to Taipei I was mobbed when I set-it up and paddled in one of the rivers. Thanks in advance for anything anyone can come-up with.
