Hello, Avid paddlers;
I am considering buying a kayak and would appreciate some feedback from
anyone who may have had some experience with this kayak:
Boreal Designs "Muktuk"
rotationally molded polyethylene
16ft long 23 3/4 inches wide 13 inches deep
I am fairly new to kayaking and would like any comments on durability,
manouverability etc etc.
Thanks for your help.
Waiting for Spring Thaw!

Hi Eric: I have little good to say about plastic sea kayaks, for over time they tend to oil-can (their bottoms get soft), and when they get scratched up they cannot be fixed easily. That being said, Boreal has some amazing glass designs. Their attention to design and manufacture is exceptional. These folks are both experienced paddlers and craftspersons. Call them on the phone and discuss what your specific paddling needs are. They won't try to sell you the store. You can track them down at 418-878-3099. And yes, my boat of choice for extend sea-kayak trips is a Boreal (a rather huge model they call the Saguenay). I am a very happy customer.
