Following up on the Lofton/Kruger posts, there is a plan in place "inside the beltway" to incorporate a GPS chip in future cell phones --- and we're not talking rocket science any more on this --- specifically to allow 9-1-1 operators to identify the exact location of the caller, a capability they currently have with land line phones. Not a bad idea --- and nowhere near as far fetched as it might have sounded a few years ago! One associated point --- in the Chesapeake Bay area, at least, cell phones are extraordinarily common for boaters; you can usually determine probable cell strength when driving by following the roads that hug the shore, because that's where all the towers are. Lastly, what's everybody doing indoors on such a beautiful day --- at least in the mid-Atlantic! I'm proofing two term papers by e-mail for my college-aged daughter in Ohio, so I've got an excuse --- the rest of y'all get outside and enjoy the air!
