Depends on how good a story-teller you are and how good the story is. 
Most of the time I am very interested in the background of the places I
visit.

Some -- I think if I were seriously thinking about paddling there, I'd
remember you gave a talk and call you up before I went.

I really find videos limiting, and well-composed slides fascinating. 
Slides provide better random access for recalling areas or scenes in
response to questions, and are many times easier to put together to make
a talk. 

A lot of this depends on your style, though Julio -- are you comfortable
"carrying" the story with your own narrative, or would you be
intimidated by that?  If the latter, perhaps a video might be the better
route.
