*** 2 dead, 10 rescued in Ore. whitewater accident Two white-water rafters died, one was injured and at least nine were stranded when their boats capsized in the rain-swollen Illinois River of southwestern Oregon, officials said Monday. Emergency workers using helicopters and jet boats rescued 10 survivors and recovered one body, according to Forest Service district ranger. She said rescue workers had seen the other body but had not been able to recover it yet. The rafters were among several groups that had started rafting and kayaking a 37-mile stretch of the Illinois River in the Siskiyou National Forest Saturday - shortly before a rainstorm flooded that stretch of the river and increased the water flow more than ten-fold.
