With regards to (and echoing) Ralph's comments on knives: A knife that has only *one* use- cutting you free of entanglements- isn't going to be left behind in a jar of peanut butter when you reach for it in a tight spot! I have a Leatherman tool I keep in a deck bag (on a short tether of its own) when paddling for repair and what now. The rescue knife lives on the PFD, period. -- Michael Edelman http://www.mich.com/~mje Telescope guide: http://www.mich.com/~mje/scope.html Folding Kayaks: http://www.mich.com/~mje/kayak.html Airguns: http://www.mich.com/~mje/airguns.html *************************************************************************** PaddleWise Paddling Mailing List Submissions: paddlewise_at_lists.intelenet.net Subscriptions: paddlewise-request_at_lists.intelenet.net Website: http://www.gasp-seakayak.net/paddlewise/ ***************************************************************************Received on Wed Mar 25 1998 - 08:32:14 PST
