Regarding Clyde's gluteal glidings --- I'd re-second Dave's ideas on foaming the sides of the boat. My VCP Pintail has a suspended fiberglass seat which fits me just fine as is, but the backband gave me fits. I filled the area aft of the seat and forward of the aft bulkhead --- only about three inches in the Pintail --- with foam blocks, carved them down with "dragon skin", and fashioned an incredibly comfortable, solid lumbar support covered with thin neoprene, nylon side out to ease entry and exit. It's easy, and the tailored fit --- along with a lot of minicell thigh support and a solid minicell block footrest --- makes the fit perfect. Takes a little time, but it's easy to do. And, if you cut too much, it's not hard to layer on a little more minicell and carve it down again. (Side benfit: if you dump and have to do a re-entry and roll or a self- or group-rescue, there's that much less water to pump out.)
