Check out the 1998 Buyer's Guide of Canone&Kayak, page 21. It tell about the Dyea to Dawson race(longer yet) With out going into all the details, the first place finisher was in 4 days, 8 hours, 49 minutes, and 16 sec. That was in a recreation-class canoe! (what ever that means??) More to come on the other race. BTW: that was hiking 33 miles, paddling across 100 miles of lakes and then some 450 miles of the Yukon river.(but then they never had to mess with fire ants either) <G> James *************************************************************************** PaddleWise Paddling Mailing List Submissions: paddlewise_at_lists.intelenet.net Subscriptions: paddlewise-request_at_lists.intelenet.net Website: http://www.gasp-seakayak.net/paddlewise/ ***************************************************************************Received on Wed Apr 08 1998 - 19:15:11 PDT
