[Paddlewise] Alsea/Waldport paddling???

Looking at a paddle in the Alsea at Waldport, Oregon. The only map I
have is the "Oregon Atlas and Gazeteer" --not a chart by any stretch.

Kate wants to try her new Raven and is pretty new on the water. We'd
like to avoid big, open water and exposed crossings. Would like to stay away
from wind waves and currents.

The north bend of the Alsea looks to have islands. . . I'm assuming
that they're tidal and may disappear at flood. Do they turn into a mud-flat
at ebb?

        Any birds worth looking at?

Winds/currents that we should be aware of?

Charts that I might look at in Portland, OR?

        Thanks, Geo.
