Well, this recently "outed" former lurker is impressed with the company I didn't know I was keeping! I'm sure I'm joining many in thanking Rob Nagle for his comments on the Eco-Challenge. And congratulations, again! We have watched the Discovery Channel coverage of the event for the past several years and are constantly awed by the performances we see. The physical and mental preparation required to make an individual even *believe* they are qualified to enter is mind boggling. Rob, I have a question I'd like you to address if it's not too much trouble: The individual participants in Eco-Challenge are obviously great athletes with strong personal resolve, but this is a team event. Beyond insurmountable injury, maintaining team integrity appears to be THE most critical factor in determining success. I am very interested in the team-building aspects of your preparation. The intense personal stresses which are compressed into the 10 days of Eco-Challenge would seem impossible to replicate in training. How did you go about finding the right mix of people when you first decided to enter an event such as this, and how do you train to respond as a team to those stresses? Many thanks, and good luck in your future events.
