I just learned of the Stearns "SAR" Flotation Vest. Its whole top half
is mesh, which is good in the summer and is great if you wear gore-tex.
The bottom is international orange. It has two large velcro pockets
with drain holes. See: http://lifesaving.com/pfd/rescpfd.htm

My only criticism is that the mesh should have also been done in orange
and the price is $15 more than similar vests from Cabelas and Bass Pro
Shops (which lack the orange color and reflective tape). Anyone know of
a better-endowed vest, or someone selling this one for less than $62?

This does look good. Copy from the Web site Ken mentions:

I suspect this is a lot to get for the $62 -- and perhaps better than
many of the more expensive "high end" units sold in paddleshops.

Ugly color, though. You'd never get me into anything so unflattering.
