I never seen anything like this, except one guy who travelled on my escort boat had similar starting up as well, from diving and snorkling... This was Palawan province in the Phillip[ines where I spent 29 days in my kayak of 35 dayson the water...For the last 2 weeks I had a escort boat along the way... Mine started from a very light surface scratch, just inside center knee, right leg...1 week later, it started going red and stiffening up and puffing up...In 2 days it swelled lots and that is when I started doing these antibiotics, I took 5 days worth [ 15 tabs], flew to Vietnam. The antibiotics stopped the swelling and it went sort of like a zit, where when ready it pops out the solid puss...It left a small hole about 6 mm across and 12 mm deep, which filled back up and now is but a very small dot like scar...This was about 3 or so days after the 15 antibiotic tabs...THAT day or the next, a small zit like white head came up just below the same knee, I scratched it and it started opening up and digging in, again I tied to cure it with tea tree oil and golden seal for 1 week, it only got worse. Next I tried the chinese herbalist, no go, I finally had to go for regular antibiotics. The first prescription from Vietnam did not do anything, another hole strated on the right side of the same knee. My lymph glands started swelling up, my leg started swelling up, so I returned to the city and the doctor who gave me another type of antibiotic and some anti-inflamatory, the swelleing stopped and the redness went away almost overnight. I spent the next week going to the clinic for daily clean up with peroxide and something yellow similar to iodine [?] By the third day of this week's dose of antibiotic, the doctor MADE ME go swimming every day before going to the clinic...By day seven it was down to half size...I was feeling great...By day 9, my friends came and joined me, I then decide to eat up the last 15 days worth of antibiotic he had from here, JUST IN CASE... I like to think I am a healthy guy, I have undergone many workshops dealing with alternative medicine, I eat chorophyll almost everyday, little meat, work out lots, very thin and active... Once before, I was at the hospital with a very nasty gash between 2 knuckles, from a angle grinder...They cleaned up and stitched me up...the next morning, my whole arm was swelled up and turning blue...I was freaked...I made a huge bowl of mint/ginger tea and soaked my hand in there for a few hours was pressing all the inflamation and puss out through the gash [I cut out the stitches] By the time I had worked my cut clean, I opened the cut as wide as possible and stuffed it full of golden seal and aloe vera, closed up the cut and taped my 2 fingers closed...Taped on a rubber glove and went right back to work... I know mint and ginger are great anti-inflamatory and relaxant, golden seal and tea tree oil are great antibiotics and astrigents...Been using such for 25 years and never had a failure to cure....Why now ??? I used up a whole year supply of both tea tree oil and golden seal and nothing happened... What should I bring along for such ??? what else should I beware of ??? Funny thing, this year is the first time I ever went for shots before travelling [other than regular tetanus...]this time I got hep A and thyphoid... If you can answer these questions, I'll be a very happy camper...
