In my opinion, there is nothing blasphemous about using sails on one's ocean boats -- my wife has written articles about how sails are excellent accessories for differentially abled or elderly paddlers, as well as paddlers who prefer to vary their paddling styles. And although I do not routinely use them and my three boats are NOT fitted for sails, I've sailed an Eskimo 22.6 by Easy Rider and found the experience rather fun. Sail's are as much an accessory as the fishing rod of the camera, when used on an ocean kayak. Easy Rider does make an excellent product, and those interested in trying it should talk with designer Peter Kaupet about his application of them on their boats.
