Its elasticized hem fits around the cockpit coaming of a kayak and the sea sock or sea bag is shoved into the cockpit the elongated portion toward the front. You sit in the bag, in effect. If you tip over, only a limited amount of water can enter the boat as air pressure and the relatively small volume of the bag keeps substantial amounts of water out. Normally after a capsize and flipping the boat right side up, you have just a few quarts of water in the boat. Whatever the amount, it is simply a matter of grabbing the material of the bag (it's nice to have something within the bag to grab on to) and turning inside out. It is surprising how few of these are available on the market. I know of only Feathercraft selling them and I doubt that more than two or three other firms are in that market. ralph diaz -- ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Ralph Diaz . . .
