OOOOOOPS! SORRY! You do need more specific information to find the
race I am ranting about...

the race information is on the left side, under the menu: "Arctic
Sea Kayak Race" :-p

[>>OK folks, now did I hear someone from texas boasting about some
special ultimate race and making comments about Finlandia race?

Check a Norwegian web site at
http://www.nif.idrett.no/padling/sea.html.<<]

Cheers,

Ari Saarto

Ari;

I found it easily enough, but the remarks still stand. And some other
differences:

1) Artic Sea Kayak Race participants are served hot meals and sleep at
night-The Texas Water safari participants paddle until they die or finish
and are not allowed ANY support...only what they can carry in their boats.

2) The Artic race takes place in a latitude where the paddler's don't
have to deal with much heat. The Texas race takes place in, well, Texas,
during the summer where summers are brutal.

By the way, I wasn't the one that was boasting about the race
originally-that was probably Lee Deviney, but my original question still
stands: Does anyone know of non-stop race longer than 260 miles (not km)?

Not to mention fire ants, alligators, alligator gars, cotton mouths, etc...

The "unofficial" website for the Texas Water Safari:

http://nacpc2.tamu.edu/~x075bb/safari/

Some interesting stories and billed as "The World's Toughest Boat Race"

Cheers,

Jackie
