>From: The Colorado Paddlers Resource <copaddlr_at_netbox.com> >To: canoeist_at_netbox.com >Subject: [CPR] Loma -> Westwater the weather was 40ish at night, 70-75 during the day. the wind only blew the last 30 minutes of the paddle on the first day. it rained 10 minutes _after_ we set up the tents. the water was flowing 9,500+ the first day, 12,800 the second. so we paddled 3 hours the first day and 2 1/2 the second. there were whirlpools almost the size of ww kayaks, so some members of the RMSKC [rky mtn sea kayk club] showed us the sneak on the right, and no difficulties, short foot and a half drop, and done. jessica made it in her first time overnighting a sea kayak. no swimmers, good company, just 9 of us, 10 if you include the great dane ;-) paul h. and his two sons (franz & tim), dave a., and wendy, plus "nadine", bobbie b. and paul f. from the sea kayak club, my daughter jessica, myself!! we did have to skip the side hike to the petroglyph, as jess was ill, and had homework to get back to. so if you just love the painting, you'd have sadly missed it this time!! i've never had more beautiful weather on a spring trip. mark #-----------------------[Colorado Paddlers' Resource]------------------ http://www.diac.com/~zen/cpr Subscription Choices: 1.
