I really don't know about where to go while on a boat...But..someone mentioned about the fresh smell after a strike... While studying soil sciences a while back [no, not so long ago] I seem to remember that 1 Lightning strike brings down the equivalent to 1700lbs of Nitrogen [N] to a area about the size of 1 acres surrounding the ground where the strike occured [in metric= 770 kgs/ 4000 sq meters] this would explain the fresh smell...About the same as the rain in the forest and the fresh smell... A friend of mine had a strike in the front yard and had the greenest lawn all summer and the kid was ear to ear with all the coin he made from mowing the lawn all the time [again sorta like when a client of mine used kgs instead of lbs for a high N lawn feed, had to mow the lawn weekly...] So what about me in my klepper with the aluminum mast up, nad the gaff set-up even higher ???
