I dont know anyone who has had a reliability problem, and just about everyone I know uses one. There will be the occasional gasket that needs replacment, but thats normal. As for comfort I tend to overheat easily, even in winter. I dont care to roll for thermal relief when the water is 32 degrees and the air is even lower. I have wondered in retrospect if the 2 ply drysuit might be just a tad cooler, but thats a $700 question that I probably wont get answered. I wish I had tried one before I bought though.
