I still have my P&H Capella for sale. This is one of the best plastic boats around as far as handling and construction are concerned. It is definitely one of the worst as far as marketing goes... which is why you've probably never heard of it. 16'5" long by 22" wide. Great secondary stability, retractable skeg, carves turns just by leaning, beautiful lines, well thought out deck rigging, VCP style hatch covers, very comfortable cockpit with very good thigh braces. This is a great high performance boat. I am asking $800. You can read the full Sea Kayaker review of this boat at http://www.seakayakermag.com/apr97/capella.htm But here is a direct quote from the review: "Some people assume that because a kayak is plastic it is inferior to a fiberglass boat. The Capella will change their minds. You get a lot of kayak for the money. It is sharp in appearance, well made and handles wind and surfs well, and has one of the best cockpit designs I have seen in a kayak. And you don't have to go into bankruptcy to buy it" (CC). ___________________ / Kevin Whilden \ |Dept. of Geosciences \___ |University of Washington \ |kwhilden_at_u.washington.edu| \________________________/ *************************************************************************** PaddleWise Paddling Mailing List Submissions: paddlewise_at_lists.intelenet.net Subscriptions: paddlewise-request_at_lists.intelenet.net Website: http://www.gasp-seakayak.net/paddlewise/ ***************************************************************************Received on Wed May 20 1998 - 23:28:28 PDT
