Kia Ora , I lost some of the reply's regarding adding wood flour etc. But my boat has a strip of between 4 " and 10 " wide (narrowes down at the sharp ends)which has a mixture of resin and carbarundum flour(the stuff grindstones and sandpaper are made of) .This protects the hull from dragging over sand beaches.I have heard it mention that alluminium oxide powder has also been used inplace of carbarundum.
