I've been hauling my FG Dagger Meridian around for over a year and I've never had any problems with stress cracks or such. I have a Mirage rack mounted on a longbed Ford Ranger. I use straps to secure the kayak and nylon rope to make an inverted vee safety line at the bow. I've never had to worry about boat or rack coming loose.
