I am finally thinking of upgrading my old stove. I've looked at the MSR
Dragonfly. A couple of questions. Does anyone have experience of it and its
ability to:
1.really allow you to simmer at a low flame? I know some of the other MSR
stoves tended to have just two settings- off and full power!
2. Is it as reliable as they say running on car Gas if you cant get hold of
Coleman type fuel.
3. What sort of price is it going for in the US and does anyone know of a
store that might do export orders. I have a frind who is going up to Alsaka
with me in August and is passing through Seattle so if there was a store
there he might get it -assuming the price is better than that quoted in the
UK.
Cheers
Derek

Campmor sells the Dragonfly for US$99. (item 87730-N in their catalog).

I interviewed them once for an article and they do accept international
orders. At the time they requested that you fax them.

But that may have changed. Here are some contact points:

http://www.campmor.com

info_at_campmor.com

to fax an order: 1-800-230-2153

customer service: 1800-525-4784.

Derek,

REI (Recreational Equipment Inc.) in Seattle has the Dragonfly for
$99.00 US. The REI store is located right in "downtown" Seattle and the
store itself is worth the trip just to see. It's a "mandatory" stop
whenever I'm passing thru Seattle.

Get the newest issue of Backpacker Magazine. They did field tests
on several stoves, MSR included. They tested and graded them on
everything from ease of use, simmering capabilities, time-to-boil, types
of fuel, and prices.
	Hope that helps !

derek may not find the magazine in the UK!! don't know about foreign delivery,
i don't have experience with the dragonfly, mine is the MSR XGK, which has off
and blow torch settings, in the past it has always won "fastest to boil" in
any review. also does not simmer at all. great for bachelor weekends, you know,
boil water in the morning for coffee and oatmeal, and then canned
soup/veggies/stew
for dinner ;-)
