I had the same thought when I first put it on, I mean of the
Scandinavian maidens. I first became aware of that ceremony from a movie
about 25 years ago titled "An Italian In Winter" with Alberto Sordi who
plays an sex-crazed Italian businessman on a business trip to Sweden,
and his awakening in his hotel room to young Swedish girls decked out in
what I now know must have been the inspiration for my paddling lights
setup. :-)

Sorry, no photos.  But I was at an evening ceremony last year (a wake
for a beloved dockmaster who had died of leukemia; he had been very
support of kayakers and kayaking facilities on the Westside of
Manhattan).  I was a few hundred yards off shore among other kayakers as
well as sailboats and small motor craft.  My wife arrived late but said
she could spot me easily among all the boats because I shone like a
beacon, even more visible than the noon paddled craft!!!

The head load of those C lights is very little as the lights themselves
weigh only a few ounces more than the 2 AA batteries powering them.  And
the head band is well fitting.  I paddle a folding kayak, remember.  You
hardly ever ever think of bracing them as they are so stable.  If seas
are so rough to require bracing in a foldable, you have a bigger problem
on your hands than just worrying about being seen!
