The person on the rear can also communicate the start of the roll by touchin the elbow of the front paddler with his paddle. It might be best to practise eyes closed, so you don't have to rely on vision to roll. Doubles tend to be quite roomy, so roll can be difficult if you don't get some support from the hull.

A double roll is done the same as a single.  The only difference is that
the person in the stern must watch the peson in the bow for the cue on
when to start the roll.  From then on it's the same.
