Thanks...Truly enjoyable to live I tell you...

What do I paddle ??/
I have a double klepper collapsible, fully loaded; Jib sail / gaf rig main
sail, leeboards [daggerboard ??], carrying cart, sea drogue, paddle float [
not sure why] GPS, miles of ropes, tent and tarps...litres upon litres of
frsh water { I carry 2 X 5 galons colapsible bags] , hammocks, and double
sets of PFD's, snorkle, fins and mask [ in case of hitchickers, which
happen quite often]...Camera gear with 3 lenses from 18 mm to 500 mm and
loads of film...

How do I pack it up ?/
a zillion dry bags stuffed up and stuffed into front and rear
cockpits which are tied in on a pullied rope, then covered with floatation
bags...boat is full.
I carry the mast and such on deck, it is very minmal height...The
only thing really on deck is my deckboard in front of me with my pelican
box on it and my sail cams on the side. this board also houses my GPS and
compass [ 1 on each side ] and my chart case is attached but under the
board for easy reach.

[ I don't really need to use my chart so much as I study them for a couple
months before I go...I just refer to them...( the captain of the outrigger
I rented out [see part 5] was quite impressed withmy knowledge of the area,
I had most of the island names down by heart and when I refered to them he
sometimes had to refer to his chart...asked me how long I been working
those waters >>>]

How do I get it around ???

well it is 100 kgs in total, makes everyone at every airport I been
to laugh really lots...and gets me to pay incredible surcharges each
time...I did however get a bunch of breaks...I usually ask if it is my
lucky day when I get to the airport...it sometmies work...It is but 3 huge
packs; 1 skinny long one for the frame work, one for the skin and
accesories for it, and the last one is for all the goodies that I need for
my gig...
Then there is my daybag stuffed with 1st aid [alternative
medicine so far [see part 6] and my pelican case also go on board the
plane with me. On the plane my GPS travels in the pelican case [often
wondered if it would screw up navigation if I get it going while take off
or something...]

The excess luggage cost are almost as much as the plane ticket
[specially when taking numerous small aircrafts]

But now,I am learning how to build S&G yaks so I can make me some there and
cut down on luggage...
By this time next year I will have kayaks in most places I go and
hang at, so I won't have so much luggage

Yours naturally
