The only "Greenland Paddles" I've seen were in a shop. The looked like
moderately flattened clubs. I have a hard time believing that I could
actually propel a boat with one, much less brace or roll. Oh yeah, there's
a car commercial where some guy is in a wood yak and has a Greenland
paddle. . . it looks like a club too.

Am I missing something here? What's the source of design for these
paddles? Anybody want to list a publication? Thanks.

	Carbon fibre driven, Geo./Svenn

I average 3.2 - 3.6 knots with mine when I paddle in relaxed touring mode.
My Greenland paddle is also very good for surfing, catching waves, and
maneuvering. The only difference is that braces are stronger when I
swing the paddle under the water.

Now, there is some magic on the Greenland paddle. It takes a little time
to learn how to use it, and it does not take you anywhere with a
bad technique. Once you learn how to use it, it will reward you very well.
