Jerry: I would like to hear more about your experinces with the Mariners. I believe this boat is desinged by Broze... is this correct? I took George's 5 day class. I paddled the coaster the whole time. Isn't shorter better in rough water? Last week, I burried the bow while surfing ... in spite of my leaning back. The bow plunged to the bottom which resulted in a loop/ender. Earlier experience taught me that if I try to surf diagonally (attempting to avoid the loop/ender/pitchpoll), the wave quickly pushes me into a broach. Staying diagonal on a steep wave seems to be quite a challenge. How does this compare with other sea kayaks?
