I really don't agrre that harvesting a plant which I have grown is definitly not killing... Proper harvesting of produce is done whent eh fruit of the plant is ripe, from this moment on it is degrading in plant value...Most plants actually start the dying process by setting fruit /seed /flower. In the case of my beautiful flowers, it is detrimental to them not to harvest the flowers stalks...Same with fruit trees, same with most greens [ cauliflower is a good one, tomatoes, chillies.. So proper harvesting of the produce plants is but beneficial to the plants themselves and/or succession of the species.... Not at all like harvesting wild game [which this area is so into ] as I see fewer and fewer game around while out in the forest.... My garden on the other hand is getting fuller and fuller, due to optimum growth and conditions [one of which is proper harvesting of ripe produce to let the plant carry on with growth and reproduction...] have fun out there Yours naturally sylvio lamarche Wycliffe organic gardens & Exotic locales all over the globe *************************************************************************** PaddleWise Paddling Mailing List Submissions: paddlewise_at_lists.intelenet.net Subscriptions: paddlewise-request_at_lists.intelenet.net Website: http://www.gasp-seakayak.net/paddlewise/ ***************************************************************************Received on Sun Aug 09 1998 - 18:05:58 PDT
