Countdown to Makah Days Festival! In an effort to increase the public pressure against the Makah whale hunt, I am preparing a controversial 8”x11” BxW photographic ad to be placed in an Olympic Peninsula newspaper just prior to the Makah Day festival. I am now only about $230 short of the $640 needed to run the ad! At this time, I would like to ask other individuals and groups to join me in in making this ad happen. This will be an independent, US citizen ad effort intended to coincide with other group's initiatives, but the proponant for this effort will be the non-profit group, Project SeaWolf. The ad will feature a graphic photo of 120+ dead, decaying gray whale carcasses scattered over a field in Chukotsy, Russia. The image comes from my investigation in Jandraginot, Siberia last year, and is very emotional and compelling. The photo will be placed in a Sunday edition of the Peninsula Daily News; readers will be encouraged to clip the photo and place it in their cars, windows, places of business, etc. for further impact. Cost for this effort will be about $630 per insertion. Your $20 or $30 dollar donation will really help.
