I'm thinking about trimming 3 cm of width off the blades of a Werner Quest fiberglasss paddle. I figure that if I can take 1.5 cm off of each side, the blades should remain reasonably well balanced. Two questions: 1) What's the best tool to use, a saw or a grinder? 2) Should I recoat the cut edges with epoxy or will simply smoothing the cut edges do a good enough job (for durability)?
