I am planning to spend 4-5 days in the B.G. in Barkley Sound in early
October, assuming semi-clement weather. Coupla questions:

Anybody know about weather radio reception in that area?

I have read fresh water sources shown on the my map might not be
reliable at the end of summer. Any recent experience?

Any suggestions for particularly pleasant campsites? I will probably
camp on two islands and explore from them.

Any comments/advice appreciated.

I'm not sure about current water availability, but the weather radio
reception is, in my experience, quite good.

Camping is only allowed at designated locations within the Broken Group,
however the campsites I've seen are generally excellent (grassy, protected
camping with composting toilets that are much less "odoriferous" than the
average dorm room...). Also, in case you haven't seen it, there's some
info specifically about the Broken Islands in the Paddlewise web site.

My only complaint about this area is that it tends to be VERY crowded in
the summer months, despite the user fees. However, this time of the year
should be quite nice.

Evan
