I prefer kayaks, because I like to sit and not kneel, and I like to be in the water. But I found a wonderful club, POST in the East Bay Area of Northern California) that canoes on Class II whitewater. I enjoy the people very much, and the moving water is fun. So I forego the kayaking experience to be with my favorite group of friends, and only go kayaking when I can't go with POST. Can bend my knees if/when I want to, stand up, move around, etc., all while on the water.
