Has anyone in the group tried the Koklatat "bibs" in combination with the Koklatat dry top? The bib has a "skirt" that rolls into the "tunnel skirt" on the dry top to form a two-piece dry suit. Because this seal is well below the top of the bibs, minimal water seepage should not pose a problem. Water would need to migrate up and over the bib before getting the paddler wet. And there's plenty of material afforded in the roll so that it shouldn't leak.

But I'm wondering how it all seals, and how the seal rides under a kayak skirt. Is there any bunching of the seal?

I have used a goretex drytop in combination with neoprene chest waders
succesfully on several occasions. I had the opportunity to test it when
swimming in surf, and it worked adequately. The drytop tunnel kept most of
the water out, and a belt for the waders would have helped even more. There
was some leakage but it didnt sink me. I dont consider it a substitute for
a drysuit (which I use now), but it was a functional temporary and cheap
alternative.

This topic brought out several rabid complaints on r.b.p that it is a
deadly combination (your waders will fill with water and you will sink like
a rock!!), but I'm still alive. It certainly isnt my first choice or the
most comfortable, but it worked.
