I do appreciate the few responses to my request of reviews for the Perception Chinook. Is there anyone out there who actually likes it? All I received was negative. Is there another opinion? Thanks for your honesty. *************************************************************************** PaddleWise Paddling Mailing List Submissions: paddlewise_at_lists.intelenet.net Subscriptions: paddlewise-request_at_lists.intelenet.net Website: http://www.gasp-seakayak.net/paddlewise/ ***************************************************************************

I just had an "opportunity" to spend a couple days paddling a Chinook. It's not a boat I would get for myself, but if you want a stable, no-surprises, unexciting, boat with a lot of room for gear, the Chinook is as good a choice as any of the other stable, no-surprises, unexciting boats with room for gear. How diplomatic you are Nick. :-) If the Chinook has a serious failing it is in the extremely fine ends that can increase the chances of broaching. It is also one of the slower (high resistance) boats due to the low effective waterline length. Other than that, many people like them.
