How about daydreaming about far away places we would all like to paddle. Then
we could find out if anyone out there has any suggestions. I'll start with
anyone who wants to suggest paddle trips along the north coast of the south
island of New Zealand . Or trips around Stewart Island off the south end of
the island.

And just another short questions--where is Old Zealand?

I love being outdoors year-round, and in Northern California we are lucky to
be able to do just that. My canoe club (POST in Oakland, California) takes one
weekend trip every month. In the summer, we usually visit Sierra Nevada
rivers, and in the winter, coastal streams fed by rainwater runoff. I'm glad I
no longer have to be cooped up in the winter, as I was when I lived in
Maryland and Michigan.

And ditto for we lucky folks who reside in the more northerly Pacific
Northwest. Big winds can nail you down for an extra day (or two) at
times, but except for the six or seven days a year when there is serious
ice on the water, one can paddle all year. More birds and pinnipeds to
see in the winter, also. Sure wish someone would lay a tiny wood stove
and compact wall tent on me for warmer/dryer tenting. Anybody do that?

Around here, we paddle the Lower Columbia River (OR/WA) and Willapa Bay,
WA.

I have a crazy buddy who skins off to the Bahamas in December, though.

Old Zealand is located in the submerged continent of Atlantis. It is well
known principle that what goes up must come down and vice versa. Thus, when
Atlantis settled beneath the seas, New Zealand surfaced on the other side
and is, in fact, the backside of Atlantis thus shedding light on the
origins of the unique flora, fauna, and politics of Kiwis.

A positive effect was that the Kiwis grew white rather than red grapes and
the resulting Cloudy Bay Sauvignon Blanc is the best in then world and its
bottles, when drained of wine and resealed and strapped to the side of the
boat provide exceptional stability.

In all other respects New Zealand and its people are perfectly normal.

John, I am sure our friend who liked talking about s*******s would like to
hear about this new (to me at least) stability product. Should we re-open
this?
