island of eastern Denmark bounded by the Kattegat and the Baltic Sea.
Separated from Sweden by the Oresund, it is the largest island of
Denmark and the site of Copenhagen, the country's capital."

   Kia Ora,

New Zealandis situated about 1200 miles East of Australia.
It was named by Able Tasman a Dutch explorer who charted part of
Australia and part of New Zealand in 1769 or thereabouts. He named New
Zealand after a Province in
South-west of Holland (= The Netherlands) were Tasman was born .He was a
well known Dutch explorer. 125 years later Captain Cook from Brittain
followed his route .
"Encarta" gives a short but quite good introduction to these islands.
And I can assure you it is a great place for paddling ,sailing, tramping
and mountaineering.
Regards
Eddie
