RE: [Paddlewise] Legalistic Entanglement (I'd rather be caught up in deck bungies)

I cut a circular piece of lexan the size of the base of the compass but with
two tabs at 180 degrees with a small hole in each tab. On the bottom I glued
a circular piece of 1/2 inch minicell formed to the shape of the peak of the
deck. I ran thin bungee through the holes in the tabs and tied small
stainless hooks (available from most marine stores) to the other end. These
hooks attach to the pad eyes on the deck and you're in business. I suppose
you could use either two or 4 depending on the location of the pad eyes, or
attachment points.

I also use the bungee/hook system to attach a fanny pack drinking bottle
holder and a fanny pack "deck bag". I can re configure the deck in seconds.
