Carborundum or graphite Eddie? In the South Island most
hire boats use carborundum (white when set). It is like
applying toffee and sets like concrete. Allows you to wear
grooves in the rocks you hit. The secret for applying it is to
warm it and use lots of water, either on a gloved finger or
any tools used. finishes range from rough-cast concrete to
smooth, dependant on the skill of the worker. The mix ratio
is 2:1. Presumably the same epoxy material is available in
USA. If not, it could be made up by loading marine epoxy
with carborumdun powder.

A three day weekend this weekend, the sun is shining
brightly, hope it stays that way.
