Hi Keith, I love my Lightning ultralight paddle - it might be worth your time to check out Hank Hays web page - http://www.paddles.com/index.html. I have his ultralight graphite with the offshore blades in a one piece paddle. It's great and only weighs 22 oz! It's my paddle of choice these days - the other paddles get left high and dry waiting for their chance in the water. Good Paddling.
