Many thanks to the folks who replied to my query about travel chairs.  I
just ordered the travel chair from REI, it looks exactly like what I wanted.

This list is fantastic for getting all kinds of useful information and
keeping interest in kayaking through the winter months.  I do enjoy the
humour (humor for u US kayakers?).  Keep it up!
