I gotta be the first person to two footed tow a walk-behind-trailer up and down some serious hills to get to Jaunita Bay-BOTH ways! For a first time out it was not so bad. True, I couldn't seem to get the skirt to fit-after 30 minutes I gave up-I did have my suit on and neoprene booties, said the heck with it, and went out anyway [after checking my watertite compartments to ensure they were secure] and had a nice time. Not as coordinated as I once was, now seems I need a bit more paddle length on the left side to go streight for example, but none the less, sweet time in the red and white boat. Oh I did get wet at the end getting out of the yak-need more practice on the stuff that once came naturally-no matter, got the job done. Stopped for lunch of scallops and chips-then a Grande Mocha! There were times I felt a bit sorry for myself, that I did this all on my own-but then had to admit: I DID IT ALL ON MY OWN! The hills between here and there are honestly, too large to do this again on foot. I took the film I shot [should be on www.totemwood.com by Tuesday evening] to be developed and bought a Sevylor Tahati <sp?> much like the one I had before I got a license years ago. With IT I can ride a BUSS past those grueling hills AND kind of visit my past. No one stole my kayak cart and it did work well so I can't complain too much. I took some advil as my legs and back are starting to tell me about themselves, but if tomorrows weather forecast is good as todays, heck with it, I'll pack my rubber boat, and pump and paddles and life preserver etc... up and take the BUSS! <G> I may no longer be a Mensa candidate [or so I was told] but I ain't giving up on something as special as getting on the water! For those of you who have been so supportive, THANKYOU, makes me wonder why I left the right coast... <G> Southern coast too! <G> For you Seattle-ites, maybe I'll get off my b_tt and join a club. In that case, maybe I'll see you around after I get my wheels back. For everyone on the list that has taken the time to be supportive-those nearby and those not-so-near-by, THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT once again! I learned much today...
