My 11 year old son, my 16 year old daughter, and I took one canoe and one
sea kayak (my son's) down the Green last summer. It was a fantastic
trip, calm water, and glorious days. We did have one flash flood one
evening and had to scramble to save our boats but it has become part of
the story now.

I would never hesitate to do the Green again in kayaks. The only problem
I see is how to carry the porta john that is required for part of the
trip. It is a good requirement as you never see any trace of human waste
anywhere and it is a heavily traveled river.

we launched from crystal geyser. the great folks at tex's riverways
provided transportation to the put-in and also the jet boat back to moab.
they are located in moab. we took out about 1 mile past the confluence.
our trip was very leisurely, we took 12 days but most of those were
spent hiking along the canyons and exploring the area. the folks at
tex's told us of great camping sites and cliff dwellings along the way
and of places to hike and all their suggestions were great.

they suggest you take at least 6 days but i would suggest at least 9 if
you have the time. the paddling is very easy but the scenery is
fantastic. i had spent time there before hiking so i knew what to expect
and i also knew i couldn't make myself rush the trip. because of our
slow pace we were able to take off early in the mornings and get the best
camping spots. it also helped that we were a small group (just me and my
two kids) so we fit in places the bigger groups didn't. we saw other
people but never camped near anyone else.

enjoy your trip.
