I agree with Phil in about everything he said, including what I've snipped
from his message.  I'm commercial, too, blatantly so, owning a kayak and
canoe paddle manufacturing company.  I try to keep this low key enough that
 hardly ever even include my affiliation to the company.  I do often append
my name with "paddle maker" or something similar when answering posts of a
technical nature, to add what little credibility I can to the answer.
Otherwise, I just try to stay a citizen, civilian, whatever, like Phil.
I'm really against getting any commercialism on this listserver (It was
formed because of blatant commercialism by one guy).  A separate web yellow
pages as described may be okay, but I wouldn't use it much.  I usually
research what I want quite well and don't let the hype get in my way.
