As an ocean and lake paddler, I have to agree most of my rolls are done in
the pool with a ww boat.
Rolling a packed expedition kayak is not difficult, but I have only done it
to show people that it can be done, not unexpectedly.
Learning to roll is an excellent way to build on other skills, but I would
not discourage people from sea kayaking if they don't have it. I would
stress other safety nets though.
Arlene.

I'd be interested in the experience of other ocean and lake paddlers: How
many
rolls do you do in a season? More pertinent, on how many days in the season
do you roll?
